I don't know Rich - the saturation and contrast are way to heavy coupled with some odd digital artefacts in the flat tones but still - there's much worse about so it doesn't deserve the hammering it got - I guess there are just a lot of bitter and twisted individuals around at the moment. you know the sort - don't get the score they expected/would have liked so go on random vote attacks in the VB. sad. but true.

I don't recall getting this image in the VB, if I had I believe I would have not voted it very high for the exact reasons stated above. I do agree however it definately did not deserve the score it recieved. Don't take it to heart as we all get the "R" letter at some time, lord knows I have been pasted a few times:) Just keep shooting and having fun with your craft. You have some very nice work in your gallery.

Uhm ... wait till the score settles some?

... ...

... ...

And yes, I am kidding to be clear.

You got hammered Rich. Happens unfortunately.

Some additional thoughts ...

Pleasant view. Bit oversaturated. Perhaps, a tad too much natural framing?

Go here for a read:

In particular, section #4 on "Framing and Edges".

Rich, I must comment on the beautiful message on this image. I am glad that things are turning around for you my friend :)
The image: this looks like a serene place to visit and sit awhile. Wish I were there:)
The colors are a bit bold as I see them but I also don't believe that it deserves the score it got.
IMO, this type of image needs a softer, gentler approach with the color tones.
I like the way you used the trees to frame the water.
Keep posting for me though, OK?
Hang in there..this too shall pass as all things do :=)
