i got his virus warning from my anti-virus software: Trojan horse BackDoor.Afcore.AI run antivirus to fix it, but it doesn't fix it, and another thing i cannot find info on this thing anywhere, anybody ever heard of it? anyone know how to get rid of it?
Usually the name of the virus is picked by the anti-virus companies based on some string that they find in the binary of the virus. Something simple like searching for that string usually won't work. If it's a good virus it won't show up in the task manager, so you can't just close it. They only way to be sure that it's gone is to wipe all your hard disks and start over, although if you can get an antivirus program to say that the virus is gone then that's usually good enough.
well, since changing from win 98 to win xp i ahve had more than 1 virus, i went 4 years with the last comp with win 98 and no viruses whatsoever. i'm really starting to despise win xp, LOL.
but thanks guys, i just wanted to see if anybody had heard of it before......
Well, what I was talking about was with the "msblast" virus, to get it off your computer you had to do a search for "msblast.exe". I was thinking that maybe this virus may be similiar, but I have no clue about viruses, never having one myself.
heres the scoop on trojan horse back door viruses, theyre viruses that infect your computer, and can record your keystrokes (what you type) and send them to the maker via email. so take it to a repair dude asap and dont buy anything online for a while (or it could steal your credit card info) these are the most associated visues with identity theft.
i had the msblast virus, but it was under the name lovsan, i couldn't find it either for a while but i finally found it and got rid of it. i found the file that this one ois supposedly in, but i scan and nothing happens, i search and nothing happens either. i've got someone trying to help me git rid of it. i know that these are bad ones to have, but i can't take it to a repair guy, that costs mucho dinero, LOL, and i don't have mucho dinero right now. anyways, thanks for responding everyone :)
