It has been that way for about a day now. :o) I would guess that 'out of order' means Please be patient with me... I am making changes (hopefully improvements) to the Search function.
Hurrah! :o)

When there are typed words like those that appear on the wallpaper search function, it is a good indication that *caedes has put them there.
It is most likely indicative of changes that *caedes is making or working on since the dev site has been up and running.
Hope this helps.

I have updated the message so that it looks more official. The search feature was generating too much load on the system and was slowing down the rest of the site.

Perhaps it is dumb question time again... but asking questions is the only way to learn sometimes! :o)
With the 'search' function out I now have trouble PMing people... can someone tell me of a way to do it other than finding a picture/comment they have posted or responding to a msg from them?

Use your 'friends' list? I am using the discussion boards to supplement my friends list to find people.... hope this helps you Con :-)

p.s....no question is dumb if you don't know the answer :)

Thanks for the 'help', Mimi! My friends' list consists of two (2) people... I guess I will have to continue using my search method. I use the search function in Firefox... but it only searches the page. At least I don't have to view every image and scan all the comments. :o)

...5 minutes later...
Hurrah!
I think I have just discovered the best way to find people for PMing... Join the Cadre > and then use the Search (Control-F) in Firefox3 or IE7.
Guess this means '::members+' only can be found easily.

It sure would be nice if the membership list was sorted! Yeah! I'm one of those people!     Just dreaming! :o)

you can also Google the username of the person you want.....the username will come up somewhere along the list with their caedes images, then all you have to do is click that link!!!......try it :-)

Googling the username only doesn't work to my liking (too many hits)... BUT googling the username and caedes.net works beautifully! This opens up a search for any kind of member of Caedes.
[The .net is important else you could get hits on Caedes in some other countries... probably towns!] {I had tried akasha caedes.}

Thanks a whole bunch for that one, Mimi! This could be useful on the opening page! :o)

You can also just type their username in the space provided in your PM, where it says "Respond". In other words, if you have a PM from say .... ME, click respond, & take my name out of the box & type in the Caedes member's name you WANT to PM instead. Type your message, hit send.... & ta daaa !!!

I promise, it works.

If you want to test it out, type your name in there & send yourself a PM first.

:o) Seeing as this is a Wallpaper Search thread as well... I have the habit of saving my downloads Username-caedes#-Title. I developed this method because I wanted to know whose pictures I got and I added the title because I could only search on it... not the Username-caedes#. Is it worth the trouble to have the Search engine go through the Username-caedes#s or would that possibly tax the system too highly? Just food for thought! No response necessary on this at all. :o)

If you know the username and the time stamp (caedes#) then you can just type the following into your browser:
