I think the most descriptive word for this country right now is>>>>

GAH! *Shakes fist in the general direction of the Houses of Parliment*.

Congrats to England on the win against Wales. You did play rather well.

The most pressing thing for me at the mo is how everywhere I look in Wales: people, books, poems, statues all talk non stop about Wales's oh so grand past. While the future is.....HAH.....left behind.

I agree. Can't the government see for a start how all the other countries in Europe are unwilling to ally with America?
Cmon see sense people! We are allying with the bad guys!

we suddenly find ourselves having to work until we are 75 before we are allowed to retire on a pittance state pension because the governent has spent the last two and a half years borrowing (thats borrowing as in no intention of ever paying it back) sixty five billion pounds out of the national pension fund to pay for our continued 'support' for an illegal occuaption of a foreign state that none of us wanted to happen anyway. and the governments answer to this? well you'll all have to work harder and save more to replace the massive hole we've left in the tax you've paid all your working life to build a nice retirement for yourself. great. may as well go and live in Tibet - at least then you know that your getting the shaft from a power mad dictatorship thinly disguising itself as a democracy - oh no wait that is the UK after all.

Rant Over. :-)

Wise words. So Bush wins the election. If Tony Blair wins ours. I'm going to have a major brain haemmorage (spell?).
Now that Bush is power again. I quote him saying "We will not stop, we will use every resourse available in order to wipe out terrorism. So that our children can live in a country of freedom and peace"/.

Well, lets get one thing straight. America is the Terror. Plain as day.

If some predicitons are correct then a civil war should kick off in America sometime around 2005-2006. I will be looking forward to it.

Less about America, more about UK. I've been thinking lately on how many many people, I'd say most of the population aren't being fullfilled by the jobs they do. It all comes down to children being pushed into the route of 6th form and the univerisity, putting themselves in a grand amount of debt and landing them in a job they find out that they don't really like.
Personally, I think i'm going to live my own life. Find a job that stable and pays enough for me to live happy. and just enjoy myself.
What do you guys think? How much is it actualy worth, aiming for the high life?

That's quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I've heard.

Just because the policies of our politicians may be questionable, doesnt mean that the American people as a whole have no sense. Come on now.

Yet something a few reporters have mentioned & is being discussed in many places....

Nearly 50% of the US isn't happy, that is how it starts....

But the half that isn't happy is largely composed of disaffected college students too lazy to go to class, let alone violently revolt against "The Man".

Okay peeps, nice discussions (or arguements). I think it'll take a little longer than 2005/2006 for another civil war to begin, after all, America is still a young country and so I highly doubt there'll be ANOTHER civil war so soon. The future for the world is not looking bright. I'm in Northern Ireland, and we might be considered one of the SAFEST countries in the world, and through all the previous troubles, that really is saying something. Anywho I'm looking forward to more disscusion. Which part of the UK you all from?

P.S. - The UK does indeed suck at ALL the sports it invented. Especially NI and football - that's embarassing

maybe we should just hold world cups for all our sports but only invite ourselves to compete - that seams to work across the pond so it should work here as well :-)

I love the fact all the qualifications I gained at school will be rendered useless.

They pretty much made most of the ones I gained worthless already, now if they do away with GCSE's it leaves me with less work re-writing my CV.

Yes, I am being very sarcastic.

If they do away with GCSE's I think the only qualifications I will be left with that people will recognise will be my bloody St John ambulance first aid certificates. ^xx^

Surely they'll still be valid for some time. I mean, I'm doing my A levels at the moment. They wouldnt just wipe out A levels completely, so all the people that are doing A Levels now would have wasted two years of their lives. Nah, it will be ver gradual. Over a period of 10 years or more.

Do you think its a good thing for the youth that will take the new degree?
