Hi Linda..there is no way to track who is fav'ing your images unless you check each individual artist's favorites gallery. But, many here do not save them to the site gallery, but rather save them to their harddrive and then run them as a desktop slideshow!
Hope this answers your question :)
I agree this could be a beneficial feature. There are a couple ways to measure or gauge the "success" of your shot. We all use the c-index, comments & critiques and # of views/downloads...but, having another column in your Caedes Control indicating how many times a shot has been faved would add another point of measurement. Could be pretty useful and, in my opinion, it doesn't really need to say who actually faved the shot, just how many times.
Hmm. Interesting point, Stephen, but I think I'd have to disagree. Rather than using the # of faves, as a scoring measure, I'd prefer to see individuals in order to see who I am (and not) appealing to, or "reaching" as an artist.
This is just my opinion, but I think we'd be better off as artists, and a community, if we move away from the numerical, quantifiable aspect of the site.
Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
I was sort of thinking along the lines of just being easier to implement tracking the number of favorites...I'm assuming it would be more difficult to track who has faved an image. Either way, I think both would be beneficial.
I agree, Rob, that I think we should move away from numerical aspects (i.e. c-index...been there, done that), but I don't consider the number of views/downloads to be the same thing at all. A lot of people see the number of views/downloads as a more reliable source of the success of an image than the c-index. Viewing the number of times faved is an extension of that to me.
Anyway, its not an argument at all...I'd be more than happy with either...or both ;)
