Seriously?

What kind of virus?

Perhaps Fran isn't aware of it herself that she has a virus in her PC, so send her a PM and ask her if she knows about the virus that she send to you and see what she will say about it.

But nevertheless thanx for the 'virus' warning :o|

Verena I've had a few PM's and emails from Fran and I haven't got any virus are you sure it was from her? I think your jumping the gun a bit by telling everyone not to let her contact them.. She's a nice lady and does great video work. As Twinks said send her a PM and ask her if she's aware of it (which I doubt she does).

Don't know about you but I would be very upset of having a discussion without being contacted to find out what happend, because to me you make it sound like she be avoided like the plague if you get a PM or email.. which is very unfair.

Edit:.. I've sent Fran the link to this discussion

I just now got my computer reworked for the second time. I was in a panic, very afraid of losing all my poetry, photography and all the rest. I don't know that much about a virus, never had one, and this is one was extremely powerful. I had a good pretection program too. I suddenly began again to get these small and every type and size of Windows Warning, these small windows were trying to convince me to get their program, even tho all it said was Warning etc etc. in red letters and red shields kept popping up on my task bar one per second...til I had about a hundred of them there. Along with bubbles telling me I had to do this or the other. It was very frightening to me. My son in law is an expert about virus and all computer things, so he worked on it the first time, then that same virus popped up again a couple days later. He came again, redid my whole puter again, it is fine now. But the virus IS the Windows Virus Warning. So if I did any harm by saying that bout Fran, I apologize, but I was in a total panic. I am not used to these kinds of things, due to the circumstances some of you might be aware of in my life. So,please don't be too upset with me, especially you Jaqueline. I did wht I thought would help others. I won't be doing that again. I do still learn too. I apologize again. And my computer is fine now. No problem at all. And I know it will continue to be fine, due to the work I had done on it. As far as Fran, even if she thinks her puter is covered, she ought to try and run a system scan to verify that. So should everyone else do tht, plus it is important to do a defrag once a month. I use Avast and it is excellent, and one thing to use to check your own puter is to go to
malwarebytes.org........... Sorry if I caused a commotion...Verena

You have to watch out for those things, they're shams, and DON'T click on them...If you have a good firewall/security suite (Norton, Kaspersky, CA, and Avast are all superb) and keep it up to date, you should be OK...and yeah...run scans often...especially after coming in contact with the aforementioned phony warning prompt...

I want to apologize again, but right to Fran. I thought I knew where the problem was, but I was mistaken. So I will be much more careful with that and with what I accept, and most of those things come in on programs. Thanx Ron....for the support with this too. It taught me to be even more cautious now. But if I hurt anyones feelings, I am truly sorry...Veren

It's okay Verena...I have a lot of info on my computer that I would not want to lose either...I don't know what I would do without my computer..I want to put a terrabyte on it and hate to be without it for the day or two it will take to get the terrabyte installed...I just want you to know I do defrags every few days and my Mcafee scans itself once a day...

Do not worry,Verena but it is better to ask the person before. No antivirus can be 100% safe and reliable.

Be careful what you download and do not click on any links then it should be fine.
