On the flip-flops/sandals I got for the beach this summer.

Found ... here.

My fashion aim is to be, not only relevant to the environment ... but, also ... ... erhm ... something something. I forgot. :o|

These things intrigue the heck out of me. I can't take them off, truth be known.

The next image you post will be the long trail of crabs scrabbling after you down the beach confused by fleeing carrion. The imprint they leave behind would be facinating.

Just wanted to say thank you to all above for taking the time to share your thoughts and opinions.

More importantly, so 'you' (speaking generally here to the above) don't think your time was wasted in this 'constructive critique' endeavour ... I can assure you that I've taken your suggestions to heart.

As I now have a bountiful supply of Odor-Eaters®.

... ...

Right, almost forgot ... anyone that has been in my vicinity while wearing these most stylish sandals ... thanks you, as well.

The angle is good, but the chair leg is a bit distracting. I would recommend moving the chair and pointing the camera down a little so as not to cut off the tail at the bottom.
It's a bit dark too, especially the heads. And if it were a different subject it would be better a little bigger.

Other than that, my opinion is, Don't.

The chair leg is distracting? The chair leg is distracting??

'Tis an integral grounding/counter-focal point/element of the overall composition!!

... ...

... ...

With regard to the issue of content, or more appropriately ... the non- or partial content of the fish tail in this imagery of art... the optical suggestions of the purity of line notates the exploration of montage elements.

... ...

Symbolically/metaphorically ... speaking, of course.

Unfortunately this image is far too small for a desktop.
Difficult to choose a category I would imagine - I dont believe we have a "Apparel" gallery ?
Not suitable for Pets - folk don't like dead ones.
Food and Drink? To horrible a thought to contemplate.

I have studied this study of two fish-flops for some time from every angle and have come to the conclusion that while being technically acceptable the composition could be improved by getting closer to the subjects, preferably not while they are being worn, unless you favour an action shot. A Polarising Filter may be of some use here - I detect a bit of glare.

Sadly, the image lacks a certain 'cuteness' favoured by many.
Food for thought perhaps - or perhaps food for feet. Maybe even fish for feet.

My advice would be to choose something a little fluffier next time and you may be surprised at favourable reactions you get. To illustrate I have captured (just a quick shot, no pp or anything) a pair of my own favourite slippers which I personally think would be more appealing to the masses.
Slippers

btw - I agree - the chair leg just has to go. It adds nothing to the overall impact, and the chopping off of the fish tail could cause extreme distress to more sensitive viewers.

Non-tetrapod craniatically speaking, the caudal fin being necessary to progressive mobility, there could be formidable repercussions if it were trucated, even photographically. The resulting portrayal would also miscarry in its endeavor to authentically characterize actuality.

But of course, that's your and the fishes's problem, not mine.

OMG Lynn wherever did you find them! I must have a pair this instant! So cute and fluffy. Right up my alley. Literally! Oh yes, and the touch of blue on the right just perfects the composition.
