There is a good list of software here on the site

Be sure to click on 'other software' for more suggestions

Personally I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro (an old version) and PhotoFiltre which is free. Zoner Photo Studio Free is also worth a look

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Hi, the two main programs that I use are Neat Image (which is used to remove noise) and FastStone Image Viewer (which is used to post edit and process images). Both of these are free and work really well. I also use Roxio Creator 2009. I have Photoshop Elements 6 but rarely use it as I think it is overly complicated.

My copy is old they are now up to Creator 2011. I'd just Google it and see. It can be bought on-line from Amazon or downloaded from Roxio. It covers much more than just photographs (videos,mp3's, dic copying etc.).

Steve

Just looked on Amazon. co.uk it is £34.00 and on Amazon.com it is $69.00

Greetings Adon, why dont you just make your request easy on us, and please tell us which type of artwork you would like to produce. It of course would of been easy in the begining if you had said you would like to produce photos. Seems to me like thats where it all starts. Do you have any photo skills or photography equipment? Or just maybe photos are not your thrill. Thats OK if its not. You said you wanted to create artwork, now thats a little more difficult, I like to take photos and then I release the chain that holds back my fantasy, and I make art from photos. Are you going to start fresh with any empty space? or do you need props to start with? It sure makes it easier to recommend a starting point and easy to use program if we have an idea of what you wish to compose. It also helps if you give an idea of your financial capabilities. Do you want a free program or are you willing to spend? We are willing to take you to where you wish to go, but you should give us a hint to where you wish to be. I look forward to your next post. I will bet you get a lot of replies.

Ok... That was definitely not the response I was working for....
I am extremely sorry for not giving you the details, personally artwork in general would have been good enough, but I guess I am more of an abstract type of person. Does that help you?

Greetings Adon - thanks for being more clear. The reason I went out of my way to write what I did, is that there are so many different software programs that do specific art well. The main thing is you replied with specific imput, and I Thank You. So you like abstract art and not so much photos. That really clears the field and I feel confident to advise you to look for and get free software to create Fractals. I think you will discover for yourself, that to create the wonderfull fractals you see on this site is not an easy task to do. So remember, practice with patience, practice with patience, and practice with patience, before you know it you will be creating some wonderful art work. I would suggest you try http://fractalarts.com/ASF/Download.html for a complete list of free software to try. I think you will enjoy exploring, and I hope to view some of your creative and interesting artwork. Good Luck. Moose
