Promotions

I was good to see some new promotions to the Main Galleries - all the 10 images chosen are deserving and represent the site excellently.

They appear to be the same choices as the those who still participate in the VB have selected, as most of them appeared on the first page (by c-index) of new images, and it seems that the selector(s) looked no further than that. With so many members opted out of the VB it seems a shame that other fine images are being overlooked.

Non-photographic images are not among the new promotions - surely there must be some worthwhile abstract/cgi work?

And are there really only 10 images deserving of promotion from the thousands offered in the 7 weeks since the last small batch ?

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Does anyone read these threads anymore? Who is this one person that is selecting images for the main gallery and why has the AC been down for so long? If those in charge would just explain what is going on, it would help. Les, mimi, Sam, Terri, Cat, Geri?

It is nice to see a bunch of abstract promotions since this thread started.

Hopefully someone will delve deeper into the new images and discover some more 'hidden treasures'
Just a random few, none have c-indexes.

Wow! Someone must have read this, Lyn! I still don't see any explanation forthcoming on what the hold is on the AC.

OK I'll bite!

I don't know what is happening with the AC to be honest but am not expecting to see it back any time soon. Then again for all I know Geri could reinstate it this afternoon. I'm not sure what prompted him to take it down either. Maybe he wasn't happy with the way it was going or maybe he has just been busy with other things.
