I created a fluid break between now and less than later, so my goal of course is to paint something within this time, i have watercolors and acrylic but usually stick with oils and knives. My post is to inquire from this vibrant artist community for any suggestions, theoretically or literal subjects, for my next painting. Open Mind.

Any commentary is appreciated. . . I want to draw something with novel but enriched meaning.

A window opened only an inch, a baby bird looking out of the nest, a rain drop about to land on a dusty road, horses at the Kentucky Derby waiting for the gate to open, two people in bed with one sitting up reading and the other laying and staring at the reader.

A view of someone who is receiving a standing ovation for speaking, possibly on a rostrum and below is a child standing and raising a hand as if to ask a question when all those around are obviously not. My initial thought was a child at the end of the nuremberg rally, but that is perhaps a little strong. (sorry, the Belsen influence again)

It could be an old person wanting to ask the question... they've seen a lot happen, and often views that they held firmly in their youth have been called into question by the passing years. The young tend to be more 'black and white' than the old.

Ok, then.. think this one is most apt:

"Open Mind".

Covers most, if not all, artistic parameters (perhaps, this is stating the obvious.. but, don't think so). Choice of medium might become more important. Certainly; colour palette, and and..


Annnnd.. go ...
