I have been taking a graphics class Consisting of Illustrator, Corel, Photo shop CS, Macromedia MX pro. I have been asked by one of the teachers to come in and talk to the students once or twice a semester to try and to influence the students to stick with there courses.

To me this is a great honor and privilege.

A lot of the kids are drop outs. The teacher feels that if someone can come in and talk to them and show them that they can make a career out of graphics design, Html and Java. That this may help there lives some ways

Some of the kids are from hard situations.

So what I'd like to do is create a flash presentation with some of my images and of those by various artist on the site . If you agree, the artist names will appear over the image as it comes up in the flash presentation.
I want to show them the potential of what can be done and how far they can go, if they apply themselves.
I am also going to give them a disc of several open source programs that have been mentioned on Caedes so that they can see whats out there other then Photo shop.

If you can use anything of mine, feel free.. Anything that can help kids stay in school and get an education is wonderful and needs support....

feel free to use anything of mine as well, i'd be glad to have impacted someone's choice in careers. especially if they're being trained to use the programs.. rather than those who think they know how to use them

What a great cause. Take anything of mine..............even if it's to demonstrate what'll happen if they don't follow their dreams:)
At this time of life it should be highlighted to kids that they should strive for something they have a passion about. The amount of times I was in an art lesson for two hours drawing a shoe when what i wanted to do was go out and spray some wall!
If you can get artists on your side that create things they are famliar with e.g. cd design, computer games, etc, it will back up the argument more.
I''ve always had a real passion about music, and if it weren't for music lesson's playing "snug as a a bug in a rug" who knows where i'd be now.

These classes are made up of adults and kids. Some of the kids are made to take a class as part of probation or to finish high school.

Some are from really screwed up situations and just need a push from people who likes to do this type of thing or just help.

A lot of them have never seen a good moment in there lives and are like a lot of kids. They just don't have a clue on what they want to do with there life's.

I really don't care if they choose to do Graphics, as much as it might show them something positive. If they apply them self's they can do anything that they want.

Feel free to use any of my stuff as well. It'll probably be easier to put the thing together if you know what images you want and ask those artists but if you are going to patchwork it from the artists posting in this thread, at least feel free to help yourself to my quantity in the absence of real quality :). Can't wait to see how it comes out. Flash is the next thing I'm going to apply myself to learning since I have already done some animation. I think it's the right step to take in alleviating my frustration with Firefox's deplorable javascript engine. I have only stayed away so far because of my terrible drawing skills. I'm sure I can work around that though :). Anyway, good luck with the presentation!

Thank you Mimi, but this is something that is an honor! I was flabergasted when he asked me.
There are so many telented artist on this site. And my work in many ways can't even compare to theirs. I just feel it would be a great idea to show a veriety of talent then just one perspective being mine.
I have learned so much from the people on this site in the last four years, that I would like to show others what can be done with a little effort and time.

Please use anything in my gallery that might help the kids, and congrat- ulations on your helping them like this.
