I need to find a good program to edit photos and video. I currently have Roxio Easy Media Creator, but it is a joke when it comes to doing serious work. It constantly fails. I'm a college student, so money is low.. We had Adobe Photoshop in High school, but everywhere I look, it is VERY expensive. I'm actually doing some photos and videos in advertisements for companies, so I need a really good program that won't fail me everytime I turn around like Roxio. Any ideas welcome! :)

Adobe Photoshop is much cheaper to buy under their educational license program which you would qualify for if your a student. there have been various threads in the past about this if you look around or check out adobes website store that has educational pricing on there.

that is true, the educational discount should help a lot. About video editing, Adobe makes Premier Pro and After effects, although after effects is more for..well what the title suggests, after effects. Premier Pro runs for $700, but im sure it would be much cheaper with an educational discount.
