Hello everyone, I was just voting on a photo like I usually do and it occured to me that giving someone a 10 with the description of "(Good)" doesn't seem adequate. I think that we should change it a bit. Make 5 "(Good)" and 10 (Excellent) etc. Anyone feel the same way?
You dont have to vote a 10 if you feel it doesnt deserve it... i think its up to the individual on what number rates what... some people use 5 as average, others use 8 as average..
I think that "Good" is kind of a neutral comment, not the Worst and not the Best. 5 is just the same being in the middle. I like your point though Andrew, maybe start (Good) at 7 then?
Well, if you think in terms of a grading system like that used in many schools, 7 is average or a C, 8 is good or a B, 9 is very good or a B+ and 10 is excellent or an A. 5 or 6 would be below average to fair and anything below 4 or 5 would be poor. I rarely see images here that are flat out poor, but someone here saw fit to give me a 0, 1 or 2 on a significant number of my images in recent day, so maybe I need to rethink my grading system...?

I don't think it should get that far off of the current grading system Wendy, just an update. The 10(Good) thingy was bugging me. If I am going to rate a photo that I deem worthy of a 10 then by golly it should fit the description, examples... Excellent, Perfect, Dynamite, Da Bomb, Ludacris etc. (The last two are JUST examples, lol)
what I understand in this post is that evry one is complaining about the rating numbers?
Correct.
Well in most rating systems the lower the number the lesser the opinion of the item being rated.
Correct.
The higher the number the better the opinion of the item.
Correct.
So what the problem ? A 1 is low and a 10 is a high rating. if you get a 10 it stands to say you got the pest rating avlible.
Correct.
Does the word best actualy make that much more of a differance, if the actual nuber tells you how your image is rated.
