Do you ever meet some really bright, young members who inspire you towards excellence and almost give you more comments and messages than you can handle? Even if they seem pesky at some limited times, they actually keep you coming back more often than you would without them. I have been looking at my profile page (the long version) and going through some old personal messages, and whenever I click on their link, their profile deleted with only a "0" for the age category remaining. It is sad for me to see these people not having even logged on for several months.
If you think you might fall into this soon, don't leave! For the rest of us, what could we do to continue to encourage them instead of allowing them to drift? I send an occasional email if they bother to leave their email address posted, but couldn't we help it before they close up shop?
There are people who habitually get into something, go great guns for a while, then get bored and stop. Art of all forms can do this to a person. It is intreaguing for a time, then the artist realizes that he will never achieve "greatness" or international renown, then drops out to pursue other paths that might lead to recognition. Those that remain truly love what they are doing.
Sometimes I get interested in something and keep at it for a while, and then find something else that interests me. Or maybe I'll pick up a new computer game that'll keep me busy for a while, but then I'll look for something else to do when I've beaten it. Or I might start working a new story, and then everything else will fall by the wayside.
My core interests, like science fiction, fantasy, computers, and hobbies that allow me to be creative haven't changed, but sometimes I try new stuff like making fractals. Don't know if I'll ever get bored with it entirely, but I do like to do different things for a change of pace.
Nah. Are you familiar with the layman's term for a mass of fine droplets of water in the atmosphere near or in contact with the earth? I wasn't staring "fogically" but... :-)
(*blows a fuse .. falls over ..because keith knows even if he gets it right the "trademarked Luke" will never see it till he's out on his own ... so .. maybe, when he's thirty*)
and then there are those of us who don't say much most of the time... we just lurk around the edges moochin off everybody's else's art.... *goes back to hiding in the corner*
