Ok, for the uninitiated this may seem a bit odd, but ask yourself where old "JOHANNA" have been the last couple of months? If you watch his User Information profile page you will be given the impression he's been here very recently... But when did you actually see him or last hear of him in a post here? I must say I admire his resolution to cover his absence...

Now, he's back under the name of vancau and posting nonsens stuff on my images, User Information page and sending annoying PMs (trying his best to be malicious but never really hitting it off). He's nothing but a child, and one must excuse him for he must not know better... But I'm not asking for that much. I just want his head nailed to the wall in the Hall of Shame, where it belongs, and see all his User Info pages taken away from the site, his titles taken from him, give him a nice negative karma as he deserves and all his deeds exposed to the public... Now, I'm just being modest really.

Ok, he's still here pestering me. If you would like a sample take a look at my User Information page (click my avatar) and tell me the comments from "vancau" is made with a kind intent and a pure heart.

If anyone still is in doubt, Joost, aka JOHANNA was the one that got banned in the final run of the "voting wars". He came back some weeks ago under a new alias, "dirupo" but was instantly banned by caedes that time and the posts he had made was deleted from the site. (His user page still exists though.)

Now he's back under yet another new alias, "vancau" and is making basically the same kind of comments, to more or less the same people as he did the last time. This time I'm not going to keep quiet about it (as you might have noticed).

Hehe... lol! In comparison I have been quiet earlier... Next time around I would recommend wearing hearing protectors... :P

I am a little perplexed as to why the IP address could not be 'harvested' of the offender and more stringent meaures taken to ensure that this person is kept off the site.

Masking IP's is not kid's stuff, nor rocket science ... but, if that or changing the IP is what is occurring ... well, my condolences. (I can only assume that this person would, eventually, in the latter case, run out of options.)

Ahhh, how about an 'ignore' feature, common to many IM programs, on our profiles? That way at least the drivel won't hit you first thing on logging on. Just a thought.

Banning a given IP address is easy, however there is not always a one-to-one relationship between ip address and username. Blocking a single ip address can block many other members if not done carefully. That is why it is left as a last resort.

It was a last resort situation for a long time... And it was said he would be blocked some time ago, I understood it as an IP block. I get the fine print in your decision but I don't agree it should have gone this far. If you have a code of conduct you must follow up on it or it will be disregarded.

Hm... You did say quite some time ago (in september I think) that the IP was blocked. Did you change your mind or just not specify that clearly above here when this last resort (was/) would (to) be used?

I changed the software in that time. It used to only allow ip ban. Now I can choose to ip ban or only ban the username. This is to avoid accidentally banning people who share an ip with others.

So... Does he have no IP ban now? Is that why he can sneak back on? Or was it changed from IP ban to username and then to IP ban again? I wasn't sure it was on the IP level earlier on since you explained to me that every attempt of Joost to log into his JOHANNA account would be registered as "last visited" on his user profile page. It seems to have stopped registering that at least temporarily as of one week ago. I'm slightly confused.

Call me paranoid but I'm not comfortable with people contacting me the first day that they make an account and just say "Hello Klas.........." I seem to recall you actually didn't want to make an IP ban so when do I know when it's going to start again?

For all I know it is just some of his old gang. They were never dealt with either... Last I heard they all live happily ever after on other parts of the web wreaking havoc at other communities. I guess that is what these people do it for.

He's the worst troll I've ever come across. The worst thing is that he was regarded as an "upstanding member" of caedes though. I've read somewhere that the only way to deal with trolls is to ignore them. I'm fine with that. I'm fine though, with nailing his head to the wall too, as stated before.
