I was just wondering, from our photographers here on the site, What are some things I should be looking for in a "hobby" kind of camera.
Currently, I'm cameraless, and pretty camera illiterate. BUt.. I would like to start snapping some stuff, and am wondering what I should be looking for so I can shoot them fin larger images for wallpapers.
Thanks in advance... *bow*
Curt - there are plenty of recent threads in the photography forum covering all aspects and ranges of cameras - just have a scout around and im sure you'll find some answers :-)
Well for basics you don't need anything more than a 4MP camera with a 3x optical zoom. You won't go wrong with Canon camera's. If you think you might get into photography as a serious hobby, you might definitely want to consider DSLR or some of the semi-pro cameras.
I would recommend starting with a digital point and shoot (these are two good options), which allow for some manual settings when you want to advance, if/when you get the feel for photography, then I would make the switch to a Digital SLR.
I sold my canon and got a fujii s5100...was told to by a pretty good semi-pro friend...not very happy with it....just can't seem to get the sharpness i'd like...what do you think..is it me or my cam? back to the sell/buy again?
