One thing I've wanted when I view many images here is to be able to see other images by the author of a particular image. Couldnt there be a feature like that? Just a suggestion. Or is there one already and Im missing a big flashing button saying "Other pictures by <name>"?
Im new here, and tend to easily miss big flashing buttons :)

Ha ha, you pretty much had it right with the big flashing button thing. Just click on the members name in the "Author:" field next to the image preview and you will be magically transported to their gallery. You can also use this trick on any name in the comments fields or in this forum, or on the news page (eg just click my name next to this post to visit my own gallery, then click the palette icon at the top of the screen).

Awww, but then new members will run out of new things to discover too quickly...

right, but it could also mean, that member has art that you can find. Not nessasarly that it is the gateway to the art.

It could also mean that they are a professional hand-painter of postage stamps, not an easy task let me tell you!

I know I've seen that icon elsewhere. I think it was part of the old Win98 Themes thingy wasn't it? So maybe some people automatically associate it with something besides a gallery.

It is an icon from KDE.

Milo had it... I thought it was an indicator that the person has uploaded pictures, but didnt realise it was, as he said, the gateway to the art.

Ah.. I see that clicking on the name now takes you to the artist's gallery. Easier than going to their profile first. Is that new, or had I missed that before?

If you click on the name next to the image preview it will take you straight there (clicking "Profile" will take you to the page with the palette icon). But in every other instance (eg in the comments field or in the forums) when you click the name it will take you to the profile. I tried to explain this before but realised afterwards it wasn't exactly crystal clear...

All sorted now. Phew! :) I should just have given myself time to find both things out instead of posting half cocked.
Thanks all, for your input.
