I was just curious in your own perspective what you like to see in a photograph. It can be anything from creativity to texture to whatever you can think of. Now I know there is a link on this website to the page on the composition for images but I would personally like to hear your own opinion.

I like to see something that catches my eye and curiousity. I like all the photos that are featured here- you can see something unique in all of them if you look closely. But I would have to say my favorites are the ones where it feels as though I were the one looking through the lens at the time it was taken. I have seen a few on this site that gave me that feeling. Thanks for asking!

Personally I'm not to bothered with the rules of composition and I think it's easily attainable to take a shot that doesn’t comply that still looks great. Deep contrasts in light and colour are always a winner for me regardless of the subject matter. Originality whether it be in photography or other forms of art is always a critical factor too.

My eyes are automatically attracted by a good focal point. Something that catches immediately your attention.

After that, the light is important. A good photographer should take photos until in the morning or in the late afternoon...

To me, photography has become too much like a science. There are certain rules and guidelines that have been made and taught, but I think that creativity is the most important aspect of a photo.

Personally, photos that make me feel some sort of emotion are my favourite. If a photographer can make me smile, or laugh, or even cry (not that I do cry, of course), he or she has accomplished the mission.

Finally, remember that beauty is, unfortunately, in the eye of the beholder. Some people will love your work. Others won't. This is a cliche (insert accent on e), but you can't forget it.
