Seriously though this is a great feature! Should save me lots of hunting around in the forums to click on somebodys name, which is how I send PM's to regulars at the moment. And it is also an easy way to identify who the real losers are (IE people who have no friends ;-)

There is already a way to remove names.

This is a great idea. I Iike it!..=) How about a way to view friends online, not just when they've uploaded a new image?

We have a way to show when members are on caedes.net, it is the link 'show users online' at the bottom of the navigation bar.

I'm aware of that, I was thinking it would save time if we didn't have to search through the list.

maybe like an "online now" icon...like the ones they have on myspace? and great feature...but I got my first notification...got all excited but the image didn't exist :'( or hasn't made it on the galleries yet.

same thing happend to 2 notifications i got... it said it was deleted etc.. when i asked the artist if they had deleted it, they hadnt.. so is this the work of a gremlin in the system?

I just realized something, maybe we get the notification when they click "upload" we just have to wait for it to appear in the gallery :D

Can someone fill me in about what this is? It seems to have passed between both ears without any resistance.

when you go to someone's personal page, you have the option to add them as a friend. adding them will accomplish 2 things

1) you are notified when they post a new image
2) they appear in your Caedes Control so that you don't have to spend time rummaging around to get to their profile page, etc.

3) They might also add you to their own friends list, giving you a warm fuzzy feeling and/or ego boost ;-)

4.) You have to share your toys, play nice, do Lauren's home-work & give me a present on my birthday ....

fill out the forms in triplicate and give em all id bracelets!

pardon me... yes, when they have a new image, it will show up under "friends" and you have to process it. and when they add you to their friends list.

This new friends list and image notification is just great...it really adds something and helps save time when there is a shortage...should help to stimulate more comments too...thanks for this new update, caedes.:Pat.

Great addition to caedes, thanks! Now I dont' have to go to every of my bookmarked user galleries (20 to 30 somthing) for my favourite artists every time I come here to see if they have submitted new material. :)

Question, is there a way to access your friends list without adding someone to it? That's the only way I can find to get to it at the moment.

It is also at the bottom of the Caedes Control panel.

Lovin' the new friends feature Caedes - another brilliant idea from our wise overlord! I think it's a great way to check up on the latest piccies from your fave Caedesians and it is definatly encoraging me to leave more comments! I agree with Cat too - a PM button could be cool.

Caedes, can you program in a way that the user can 'turn off' the friends notification? As the seasons are now changing, people go on holiday's and visit or take weekend trips. I personally would rather be able to turn off the notification if I am going to be away from my computer for a few days than come home and find way more subscriptions than I could possibly comment on. The alternative would be to have a "delete all' button so one would not have to individually click each friend to delete. Thanks :~)

The notifications are set to disappear automatically after a week or so. This should temper the adverse effects of not checking them for a few days.
