Caedes, I have noticed that every night for the past 2 weeks or so, the website becomes inaccessible around 3:30AM (CST) to 4:30AM (CST). The pages will not load or I will get "page cannot be displayed". This has been a daily occurrence. Curt also has experienced it, so I do not believe it is my computer as I originally thought. Anyone else having problems who is on at that time? Thanks. :~)

I have experienced times when the site stops responding .. usually, of course, it's when I've typed a manifesto and I risk losing it to gremlins

I wouldn't mind seeing a "traffic load" meter up there under the Caedes logo .. STOCK.xchng used to have one on the previous version (gone now)

although I don't think the problem has been traffic related

I think this is due to necessary backup procedures running in the background. This takes quite a lot of processing power leaving the poor CPU struggling to accommodate the night owl visitors.

I'm guessing that it's in that timeframe. Only Caedes would be able to say for certain though.

Yes, it is most likely the nightly backup. I've tried various things to get it to be nicer to the server. I'll see what else is possible.

Thanks Caedes for the response....'for certain' makes me feel better to know that my computer isn't getting too tired :+)

Sorry, been somewhat distracted lately.... Thanks for the rsponse Caedes, on the"Back-up" thing... I can also say I have noticed the lag late at night/early in the morning, when Mimi and I have been going back and forth with our "Word sparring" on the "As per Caedes request" thread.

I've changed one of the backup scripts (the slowest one) so that it won't cause any more problems. There should be less of an interuption tonight.
