What does caedes mean?

I am curious what the word caedes means. I know it is latin, and I looked it up in a Latin-English dictionary, but all I could find is things like kill, murder, and massacre. Is that really what it means?

SECRET AGENT MAN

There's a man who leads a life of danger
To everyone he meets he stays a stranger
With every move he makes another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow

Secret agent man, secret agent man
They've given you a number and taken away your name

The safest answer would be ... the creator of the site is an enigma wrapped in a riddle which is then wrapped in a flour tortilla and slathered with refried beans .. and, finally, sold through the taco bell drive through window

but ... I think you're looking for this .. HERE

noun: caedes from the verb: caedo "to cut, hew, cut down, fell, cut off, cut to pieces; smiting, killing, slaughter, massacre, carnage, esp. in battle or by an assassin."

as to the pronounciation well thats a whole separate can of worms.

Hmm, strange ... I understand KEIFER completely ... but, then again, I belong to a site that has "ungrateful idiots as members" ... to quote an unreliable source.

Sorry, cross-threading my posts here. Need a giggle, go read the "Disgruntled Member" thread.

Hey!!! Maybe I am a simpleton ... look peeps, revolving circles and squares.

Ohhhh, pretty ... *drools* ...

*caedes also registered the name .. "Camum" .. which is the latin word for BEER

just picture in your mind your mother saying .. "Oh .. Camum's on TV .. quick children .. come see"

and you'll see that CAEDES was the better choice

Well, actually if it meant 'beer' that would have had some connection to the time and events surrounding the creation of the site.

University and beer? ... nah, never happens and never will. :P

Unreal Tournament is a video game, if you are unfamiliar with it. And in the game the object is to eliminate your opponent(s), you ... as Geri (our webmaster's name) probably did quite aptly ... 'slaughter' them. Annihilate, whichever, your choice.

You want to strike fear into your opponent's heart? Well, giving yourself a moniker like "Smoochypants" may get them running for entirely different, albeit maybe effective, reasons altogether. So, "caedes.net" on some primal collective consciousness level ... as KEIFER says ... keeps the sissies and the rip artists off the site.

Oh, some venture onto our turf ... those ne'er do wells ... but, we 'slaughter' them. Go ahead, peruse the aforementioned thread; "Disgruntled Member" and see for yourself.

We are whacko, lol. Many of us are missing ears.
