i have a slight problem. a teacher at my school has put a bios password on the computers in the classroom. I know you can switch the shunt on the CMOS jumper to reset the password, but i dont want to open the case. does anyone know of another way to bypass the bios password?

That's the only sure-fire way I'm aware of. Incidentally, why do you need to do this?

no, its just that he locked us out of the computer and he thinks it is funny and unbreakable, so i wanted to show him otherwise.

So what are the computers for then? If you can't even boot them then they are pretty worthless, no?

i use them to do homework, i want to crack the password b/c he is now forcing us to use the comps across campus instead of the ones in his room.

That is exactly it, He does not know i did it!!!!! If i do any thing to the computers it wont be very harmful, i will probably just change the background to say something like, "YOUR PASSWORD HAS BEEN CRACKED" or something like that, but i might not do anything because i want to use those computers. So if he doesnt know that i know the password then i can use the computers as much as i want!

it is probably best not to tell him then...until the last day of school!!! bwahahaha!!!
