Stupid newbie question... I have searched all over this site and can't seem to find the answer so please forgive me. Are my photos automatically copyrighted when uploaded on this site?

Amber, you can look under the navigation bar on the left and scroll down to the bottom. There it states that you cannot use anyone's images without their permission. It will also state under the image you post that it is copyrighted. Realize of course, that being on the web, it is difficult to completely control ripping of images. We ( all the members) are alert for any members images on any other websites and if found, we do post on the discussion forum under 'vigilante justice'.

Your images are immediately copyrighted once you create them (at least for the largest part of the world). In the US you might want to go through the processs of officially having your works copyrighted (provided that they are valuable enough to spend the time and money).

Caedes.net includes a copyright notice that states what can and can't be done with the image. Unfortunately many people think that if it's on the internet they can do what they please with the image... so be aware that you stand a chance of getting your images ripped, but luckily the PIIN will back you up in such a situation (see the Vigilante Justice Threads).
