Myspace will not ready my son's background on his myspace that he downloded from your site; it is all gray: www.myspace.com/jeffshields. His girlfriends site is doing the same thing to me. I called him to let him know and he said he can see it from his computer. The only thing it says is that the image that was supposed to be here is from Caedes.net (The chihuahuas are coming to get you) Thanks for your comments, my six year old Chihuahua, Doodle is a brat. HELP....

He is linking directly to the image stored on the caedes server. That is a no no as it eats up bandwidth for the site. The correct way is to download the image from caedes and then upload it to his website, HOWEVER if you are going to do that you need permission from the author first. Images from caedes are only for personal use (ie they should not be used in a public forum such as a website) unless you have asked the member for permission to use it and they have agreed.

the reason is ... you are not allowed to host the background for your son's myspace account on the caedes server .. you have essentially told myspace to retrieve the image from caedes everytime somebody views your son's page

that is a No-No .. that is bandwidth theft ...

I know little of how myspace operates .. but you will have to ask the author of the image if it is OK to use the image on Myspace .. then you will have to upload the image to myspace or host the image elsewhere

so that caedes servers are not working to serve the needs of myspace users

Susan .. (FutureResident) mentioned in another thread that she makes Xanga Layouts .. perhaps she could give you some pointers on alternate locations, like Photobucket, for hosting the background image
