Hey, everyone, I'm new here, and man was I swept over with talent. I was just wondering that if it was possible to use some backgrounds to add effects to some artwork I compile. Do I need to get specific permission from EVERY author, since they are only to be done for entertainment.

If you want to post them, then yes you should get permission. However, if you are the only one who uses the results, ie you don't distribute the edited works, then that's fine. It should take you a lot less time and effort to get permission than what you spend editing them anyway, if the results are going to be worthwhile.
