I am solely a photographer; the only computer graphics I create are in the field of graphic design. Before I started taking the time to really look at fractals, I was one who rarely gave them much thought or even a decent vote. I have disciplined myself however, and opened my mind to them, discovering just how beautiful they can be, when crafted the right way. I've seen fractals show up numerous times as suggested contest topics, only to be heavily outvoted, and I truly believe the fractal artists deserve to have a contest for their art. It's time.

I am getting on board the Fractal Train. I have met some artists who introduced me to fractals and have made several friends among them. I think it is their time to shine.

Well, first off...Tick, a Sagittarius ?! Aweesomeness ! Me too ! Secondly, thank you both diaz3508 & Nikoneer, you have just seriously made my day. Of course I'm voting fractals, I just don't know if I'll be able to participate since I'm going in for surgery the 4th. We'll see. That is, of course, if fractals wins the poll. Talk about wishful thinking ! ;-)

If the fractal train is going by, allow me to hop on board and cast my vote, along with Nik, Tick, Jellybean, and Lauren... It's way past time for the Fractalists among us to toot their horns, honk their conks, and otherwise have a go at this contest stuff! So fractals get my vote...

Yep, over due! Another vote for fractals. I would love to see it although I am really curious about just what lightning in a bottle would look like.

My City: a shot of the place where you live.
Not too hard but very interesting I think.

It is known that there is an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination.

Definition of Lightning in a Bottle:

Capturing something powerful and elusive and then being able to hold it and show it to the world.

Performing a rare feat.

A moment of creative brilliance.

In other words - a contest open to all styles and a chance for people to break out of their comfort zones and try something totally different.

Yes! Fractals! There are so many ways a fractal can come out! Even the artist doesn't know what they get until the final render. I know that fractals have become so popular, and there's a reason why. Not all turn out, but when they do! Wow!

Well, I've never been able to learn the art of creating fractals, but I love using them on my desktop, have even used them as inspiration to do canvas paintings, so I am ALL for a fractal contest. It will be magical to see all the new creations aboard. Might be hard for us who love all the fractal artists here, to choose just one who will win tho. But it'll be fun trying!! yayy for the fractals!!

I agree that the Fractal artists should have their day and show their wonderful creations. I dont know how to do a Fractal yet, so will be sitting out of this contest if its Fractals, but perhaps someone may allow me to vote instead. That way I can still be involved!! Either way, I am looking forward to seeing what the new contest will bring.

There are enough fractals in nature, if you look for them, to allow photographers a chance to enter even this contest.

Hmm, I think it will be interesting to see what are the tastes of non-fractal artists when voting for fractals: do they go for simplicity and graceful lines or for complexity and lots of interaction between elements.

I am in awe of our fractal artists on Caedes and am excited to see them display their work in this contest! I couldn't even begin to imagine how they create these stunning designs~they pique my curiosity and as I stare at these lovely art designs they make my mind imagine all sorts of beautiful things! This is a perfect contest to showcase these talented and creative artists! Good Luck to all! Can't wait to see what you all come up with! :)Ami
