Every now and then a photographer gets a result they especially like. This is one for me. That's why I called it simply "The Scene." When I posted A Peaceful Place yesterday I said I would post a different look today. I'm not sure why I didn't present it this way in the first place.

It must have been because I wanted it to look really rustic and felt the red shed distracted from that mood. I was wrong. No manipulation was done just a different crop. Hope you enjoy it. I emailed it to the Amish family but haven't heard anything yet. :)

I might mention A Peaceful Place finished third in a recent contest and will be hanging in a new wing at the hospital in Memphis. It is not real close to Graceland because it is in Missouri, not Tennessee.

I agree that the touch of red is not at all disturbing - on the contrary adds a little more "pep" to the scene. So this will be admired not only on caedes but also by the patients in a hospital. It will cheer them up a bit for sure Tick.

I believe I like this one better. I don't think the red barn is a distraction. I like the Amish buggy placement in this one. Congrats on the contest . The hospital gets a pretty wall hanging. Job well done.

Yes, I like this with the red barn. No need to be too austere. I didn't know that Amish used computers. This is definitely the best one. Congrats on the third place.

I actually like this version better than yesterday's TicK. Barn's are supposed to be red anyway.

Here's a good one. I tried to nominate yesterday's shot for the AC. First I received an internal error and then I was told it was already nominated. I just tried to nominate this version and received the same internal error message followed by the message, "You are not currently eligible to refer images to the council."

This shot is as good as it gets. One of the few 10's. Let's leave it at that or you'll get a swelled head.

Not bad, not bad at all. The red shed adds some colour to the scene. Nice composition and details in the photo. The wagon could be moved back to the right side a couple or three lengths for a better placement in the photo.
