Many wanted to see my two recent posts of the log cabins in Florida, Missouri in black and white. The lighting this particular evening, lent itself to creating an old time feel in the cabins. If you care to see more about Mark Twain Lake or the color versions of the cabins, just click here.

Mark Twain was pretty much a black and white kinda guy so I suspect he wouldn't mind this shot.

Hi, TicK....

After many seconds of review and careful deliberation, I've decided that I prefer the color version slightly more than B & W; and I'll even tell you why. It boils down to the darn background again. In black and white, the background is just too busy with all the different shades of gray for twigs, limbs and trunks. As for the cabin itself, I like black and white version better. I suppose I could take the two shots piece by piece and component by component and tell you which lawn is better and which window is better, but I do have a life to live. Admittedly it's not much of one, but it's the only one I've got; so I'll move on.

With that in mind, let me say, "Nice shot. Thanks for sharing".

I prefer the color version also although the B&W is very nice. I like the color due to the trees . I love the lighting in the color version and feel some of that beauty is lost in the B&W. It is a beautiful shot either way .

I'll go with the technicolour version preference wise. Nice contrasts though in this version. Still a lovely scene no matter how you look at it. Top rate job!

Personally I prefer the colour version Tick. B/W looks good but makes the scene look rather gloomy.

I must admit that the b/w is "Da Bomb." It absolutely brings the shot to life...just like an old b/w movie about pioneers or some such thing. I think I hear the owners coming in with their horse and buggy! Excellent all the way, Tick!

Boy it is a toss up for but If I had to make a choice? Heck I guess I would go with this one, what Rog said makes sense, but this treatment makes it seem more rustic, I like the mood evokes.

This is wonderful Ron!! I prefer this to the color one for several reasons the main being that color is to saturated for me....to much 'blue' in the color one but this ROCKS!!!

Beautiful B/W shot. Nicely composed aswell!

Did you used some HDR or is it the color that makes it look that way??

I like that ancient feel that the B&W really engenders. It turned out well. But I do like the color version the best. Love the sunlight on the trees. But this is great!
