Walt, we hardly knew ye

This scene is looking west toward the land of opportunity. Walt Disney considered Marceline, Missouri his hometown and the railroad depot now serves as the Disney Museum. You can check it out here. The museum was closed the day I was there but I plan on returning. Call me Goofy, but I kinda like this shot.

OK Goofy, that building still looks to be in pretty good shape.
I like the nostalgic/aged effect you've used. Walt was certainly a creative genius.

Taken at a great angle and very nostalgic looking Ticker! And very superb!!!! I didn't know these facts so I was very intrigued to learn this about Walt Disney.

First of all, TicK, I would have nominated this to the AC, but the box is missing; so somebody got here before me. I will bestow upon you and this image a cherished "fave" and the equally adored "ataboy".

You captured an/or used the light to the optimum advantage. The monotone is a perfect choice as is the added noise to create the effect of ageless wonder. The angle you chose is brilliance personified whatever in the hell that means although it sounds pretty nifty. The detail especially in the iron fence is amazing. You simply didn't miss a beat.

I could gush on and on just like Cinderella's nasty sisters at the ball fawning over the prince, but that would be unseemly. The last thing I want is to be unseemly.

To give you an idea of how much I like this shot, I'd put it just barely below this one.

Well here I go out on a limb(no trees were hurt doing so)........I too love the old time appeal to this marvelous scene and for which it stands.....oops, that's part of the Pledge Of Allegiance, still celebrating the 4th I guess:) Now where was I, oh yes; Color:superb; scene: inviting/nostalgic; Story-line tag/reference:memorable and intriguing; noisy sky, that's my only negative negative remark Tick:) Otherwise almost foolproof:):)

Goofy - The grainy sepia tone works so well here. Walt would be proud of you. I like the comp, with the tracks heading to the horizon on the left, leading the eye westward, just as it did for Walt. "Well, that's all for today!" Thad
