Every once in a while an image just says: "I don't need any editing, so just walk on." I think this is one of them. We get so hung up on closeups that we forget our eyes don't have zoom capabilities. They might "bug out" from time to time, but that's not zooming. I took this with my Nikon Coolpix S9500 while on my daily morning walk. The lighting struck me as being just right to highlight the Climber. I did a little cropping, but that's it. He only gave me one shot at him. I took my shot and he grabbed his nuts and ran off. I hope you see some of the beauty that I found in this image. If not, so be it!

---I hope you see some of the beauty that I found in this image--

Like to confirm this Tick!
Agree with your narrative as well.
It's a mistake that an image is only interesting when it's only shown in a close-up mode. But animals in their natural environment, like this squirrel, provide even a better one (only when the capture is good, like this one, lol).

Very well seen and captured Owd Fella.!

Regards, Cornelius.

You, and Mr. C. said it so well, I do agree totally. The coolpix in your hands did a very nice job, good color, and focus, and kudos on next to nothing editing. WTG!! =^..^=tigz♥

That Coolpix does a great job, and so does the Walker, Clint. I lighting is stunning in this shot, and the colors and contrasts are top notch too. Well done, Tick.

Cool pix and the walker have created a cool pix here too Tick. I shoot/like close-ups as well as distant views depending of course on the subject. This is a nice capture.

It works for me too Tick - I don't always take shots of the landscapes I admire - I should start and maybe I'll end with a goodie like this one.

I liked Jimbob's reference to the star of Cheyenne. Clint even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Maybe your picture will have a star on the Caedes Walk of Images. Hope so.

I like to see the subject (the cute squirrel) in context, and this is a great shot! The lighting is great, and I like the contrast of the dead tree and branches against the living in the background. Well captured.

A Cool pic of the squirrel gathering his nuts for the winter. I bought a Sony DSC-RX100M II this week for the upcoming trip across the pond. My camera equipment has become too bulky and heavy for long haul trips. Hoping to get good results, as you did with this nature shot.

taking time to smell the roses! i like to see a pic just as it was taken. your right! sometimes we get caught up in all this editing(me for one) that one straight from the card is a nice change to see. what you captured is just what we see daily..the beauty of nature! if you just take the time to look around & appreciate it. well taken, well said!

As natural as can be!...I agree, we do get hung up on processing!...but most cameras don't need that now!...I agree that I am guilty of that as well as other's...

Good one, and really well spotted with the eye!...

Being a animal lover yes I do love this photo for two reasons one the light as you say is superb in this photo two this shot as the feel of peace and quietness as if you are not there plus the detail is outstanding my friend.Plus with my IPad I can pull the picture open even more and the detail is still sharp .Plus the colours are so natural looking two.Well done to a very nice capture and what as made my day is I have just today upgraded my Nixon coolpix S6400 to a Nixon coolpix S9700 so to see your photo it say I did the right move.I have the Nixon D7000 SLR as well but love the coolpiix. For there zoom and macro capability .So pleased you posted this excellent photo today thanks tick.
