Nothing special about this photo. I just figured most of you would never see this town, so here is a glimpse.

Radar O'Reilly from the TV show M.A.S.H. claimed to be from this town. That is untrue. Tom Arnold claims to be from this town. That is true.

The specks in the sky are birds. It is against the law to kill them in Ottumwa, so I didn't.

Great perspective. It looks so familiar, like hundreds of places I have been, and that is the beauty of it. Thanks for sharing.

I can't agree with you Tick because, indeed, I have never seen this town. Everything what's new to me has my interest and is special to me.

It's a good composition taken from a well chosen vantage point.
Thanks for sharing this one Owd Fella!

I never thought I would see Ottumwa Iowa - I went to college with a girl from there however she only stayed one semester as she missed Ottumwa too much - she never tired of talking about it! This image so resembles the main street of the town where my brother lives which is St Charles Il which is situated along the Fox river. The resemblance is remarkable - thanks for taking me to Ottumwa Tick with this excellent perspective.

A beautiful view of the city with the bridge leading in. I believe Ottumwa, Iowa is nicknamed "The City Of Bridges". That must be the Des Moines River. I traveled through Ottumwa several times (down good old Hwy 63) in my younger days ... so familiar territory for me.

A nicely composed scene, Tick.

I too like your POV on this with the bridge and street lamps. Thanks for straightening us out on where Radar O' Reilly and Tom Arnold are and are not from. I have a better understanding of Arnold's wacky humor.

I'm pleased to hear that you are a law abiding citizen Tick. So much detail to see here even though this is a town few have heard of. (I realise that I broke all grammatical rules ending that last sentence with a preposition but I'm in a devil may care mood!)

You captured all of our homes, all of our towns.

As for your M.A.S.H reference:

I am going to have a Grape Nehi, see if I can find a Tony Packo's Double Dog to go with it, and then head off to bed with Radar's teddy. Night Tick!

I agree, I can say with some certainty I shall never see Ottumwa. Not on my bucket list - mainly because I had never heard of it till now :) Looks a nice town
