Torrey Pines was one of the courses I played when I first took up the game of golf. It was in the 1960's and I was living in San Diego, California. I also played a lot at Balboa Park. Most of the people I played golf with were retired Military Veterans. They complimented me on how far I hit the ball as they took my money when we were finished. I finally learned not to be concerned with the length of a golf course but the width. Those Old Timers had learned that lesson.
Our good friend Thad (Luckyshot) has been posting some great shots from Torrey Pines. You can view them HERE.
This shot was taken by my son on November 7, 2012. I sent my Canon PowerShot A3100 IS with him and asked him to take some photos. He is not crazy about photography, so he didn't take too photos. As near as I can figure out, this is the green on Hole #7 at the North Course. There is also a South Course. The Pros recently finished their annual tournament there and Brandt Snedeker was the winner. It is a Public Golf Course run by the City of San Diego, not a Private Country Club. We all walked the course back then and golf was truly golf.
