The Mississippi River is currently flooding from Iowa to Louisiana. Pictured is a scene in Hannibal, Missouri. I took a trip June 3rd to view the flooding and traveled from Keokuk, Iowa to Hannibal, Missouri; stopping at Quincy, Illinois in between.

The current flooding is approaching the record flooding that occurred in 1993. The water level reached 31.3 feet in 1993 and it was at 29.2 feet when I took this photo. You can read about the 1993 flood here. I will be sharing some photos of the flooding in the days ahead. Pray for those who are caught in the wrath of The Mississippi.

I remember the 1993 flooding quite well Tick - we were up in Galena IL when it was starting on a trip. Very good shot of the mighty river.

Such a shame, we were in Nebraska, it is so hard to see. I think of all the farmers that will never be able to plant crops, this year or maybe a few years. We need to pray hard. Fine photo.

See that the Mississippi has conquered a lot of land already Tick. I have been up the Mississippi a few times (New Orleans) and I know how strong the current on the river ist. Hope it doesn't get any worse. Your photo shows this impressive sight well.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), each flood is still a nightmare to me because of my traumatic experience, caused by the disastrous flood in 1953 in my area.
Join me in the prayers for those who are caught in the wrath of The Mississippi.
A very good but touching 'photo journalism' image to me!

I have been terrified and very lucky to have lived through 2 major flooding's in my times away in other countries! The helpless moments we feel against the elements, makes me feel that God is truly on my side at those times.

What a terrible thing they are going through, I was in Winfield Missouri and the flooding was bad there also, then the levee broke after I left.

Pray everyone one is safe and that the water will go down soon
