I thought I would give an update on the Mississippi River Flooding. This Boat Club is on the bank of the Mississippi in Quincy, IL. When I took this photo on June 3rd, the water level was 30.46. Today it is at 20.81 feet. Flood level is 17.0 feet. As you can see it has gone down almost 10 feet. There have been some recent storms so it might go back up a bit in the next few days. If you want to check out the flood photos, you can start here and follow the links. I didn't think this particular photo fit the requirements for Photojournalism, although the information does.

That is a lot of water Tick! That structure is one of the finest boat houses I have ever seen. Would love to see the interior. Fine shot!

A great looking Boat-House...The 'tower' looks like a watch tower to watch out for those having problems on the water...

The water level doesn't look so bad in this pic...

I half-expected you to state that this was part of a model railroad layout.
Your flood series has brought to reality the incredible amount of water, and resulting damage, the mid-west has been faced with this year.
Well done, my friend.

A nice looking building Tick. This kind of flood is a sign of what is going on on our planet. The hurricanes and typhoons have become stronger and more frequent. Many areas have the opposite problem : extreme shortage of water.

Well done, and a very good addition to this series, somber as it is, it does tell a story. tigz=^..^=

The water has really gone down but still too high - and that is a beautiful boat house. I see it was built in 1909.

Regardless of gallery, I find the architecture of the building quite interesting. It appears to be a single story but the front has a tower with a window with the depth that looks like a small window. Yet, the rest of the front appears to be a facade with no depth. Like TV western town buildings. As for the gallery, Tick you can never be wrong choosing what you did or what you may have. Both fit your work.

It is quite a unique little building. Hope the water doesn't rise again.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT),
thanks for the update with a corresponding good and interesting photo.
Now that the water level is falling, I allow me the freedom to provide you with this LINK (with a smile on my face, of course), 😄 !

Its a splendid looking boat house. The story of the flooding - well I am relived that it has gone down but it is a constant reminder that mother nature does her own thing and she is not in any great hurry to allow things to get back to normal

The water level still has to drop quite substantially and will probably take some time to do so Tick - love the design of the North Side Boat Club - looks like the building has been well maintained - Great Capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A grand old structure. Looks like they built it above the flood plain.
