This old Dairy Barn is slowly fading from the landscape. Milk once flowed like honey, but those days have turned sour. One has to Imaginize how it looked back when teats were pumping with pride. Cows stood next to each other and gossiped as cold fingers in the winter startled them. As far as old barns go--to me this barn has risen like cream to the top. The yellow wild flowers around the Margarine, give it at least 2% beauty.

Speaking of the yellow flowers, there are many different names for them, depending on who you talk to. Names such as Black or Brown Eyed Susan's, Golden Rod, Ragwort, Tickseed, Hairy Cat's Ear, Yellow Ironweed,Bear's Foot and Sneezeweed. A farmer friend of mine said the Conservation Department calls them flowers and the farmers call them weeds. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Pull up a milking stool and see if you can squeeze any enjoyment out of this Goofy-Foofy! Also see if you can find the eye to the sky.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Love this rustic rural scene and the way you have composed it with a lot of the weeds/flowers 'depending on who you talk to' in the foreground...also thoroughly enjoyed your narrative and use of puns and play on words...I also think I have spotted the 'eye to the sky' in the top centre portion in the clouds...marvelous all-round post, Tick, and a fave for me.

I do love your tongue-in-cheek narrative with this and the shot is very nostalgic.

Pity that this barn that had seen and felt all the busy work that went on in the old days in and around it has now become so dilapidated and a sorry sight . I like your funny narrative Tick. I laughed when I read about the cold fingers that startled the cows :)

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), a perfect match with both image and narrative.
You're not only a good artist when it comes to photography, but one when it comes to playing with words as well. 'Versatility' comes into my mind to qualify this phenomenon!

I think of myself and those that have gone on before me when I see a shot like this. There is still beauty around us but the beating of this life has taken its toll upon us. Your shot and narrative are top notch as usual Tick.

It is not in to bad a shape, could use a new cupola right there in the middle. Grand old barn though.
