I have always enjoyed murals in the various towns I have visited over the years. I have taken photos of some of them and shared some as well. Recently I went through all the murals I could find and put them in their own folder. Most of them depict a time in the history of the town. I have given credit, when known, and will continue to do so as I post some from time to time.

This was taken in Louisiana, Mo and it was painted by Alex Stelios-Wills. You can read about it here. I also read the following information in the Visitors Guide to Louisiana, MO. In 2000 the Louisiana Mural Organization was formed with the purpose of improving the visual aesthetics of this historic river town as well as supporting the new specialty businesses, the fine restaurants, and bed and breakfasts. To date 23 murals are proudly displayed and Louisiana has been named Route 79 Mural city by Mayoral proclamation and is awaiting a similar proclamation from the Missouri House and Senate. I hope you enjoy these and I have not tried to fix the wear and tear they have suffered over the years.

Looks to be an impressive series you'll be giving us if this is an example. We have some wonderful artists, it must take them a long time to complete one of these masterpieces. Thanks for sharing.

I first thought that this was a photo of the real scene. Only when you see it on full screen one can see that this is a mural. Good find and capture of this beautiful mural Tick.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), this is a well depicted, and very interesting public mural.
Witness my series, I'm fond of public murals if they have a good (artistry) level like your one, the ones depicted by SAW (Pat), Milka, and me.
Hope that you're able to capture some more as it would be a great series as well.
S+F. Thanks for this one anyhow, 👍 !
PS: hope that they're able to repair the minor damage in this one. If not it will be deteriorated soon by, for instance, the weather conditions ,

Not only is the mural intriguing but the name of the town. I need to look up why they would name a town after a state down from them? I feel there needs to be a lot more of this, where sides of buildings are transformed into something that reflects the historic nature of the area. Went and looked, and this explains it!
The town was founded in 1816 by John Walter Basye and named after his daughter, Louisiana Basye.
