This was taken in Rochester, Minnesota on June 27, 2014. It has been in my picture aquarium since then. I decided to let it out and get some exercise. It is based on "Boy with a Dolphin" a 13-foot bronze sculpture which in the words of its creator, David Wynne, has a theme of joy and well-being. Describing the work, Wynne notes: "The boy is being shown that if you trust the world, the thrills and great happiness are yours. You can read more about it here. I have a photo I took that is almost identical to the one in the above link.

The photo in the post is mine and the background was created in Photoshop CS6. Photoshop offers free textures to Photoshop users from time to time. This was offered in 2013. That's the best I can do as far as information on the background.

This is my contribution this week for SNATM. The movie is a 1957 film starring Alan Ladd and Sophia Loren. It has a couple of first's. It was the first Hollywood Movie filmed in Greece and the first English speaking film for Sophia Loren. You can read more about it here and watch a trailer here. I hope you enjoy the show.

The film music scoring was nominated for an Oscar in 1958. It lost to "Bridge On The River Kwai." You can listen to the main theme here.

What a beautiful sculpture...dolphins have always impressed me with their known intelligence and seeming joy and 'perpetual smile'...they are certainly an appropriate messenger of the theme, 'if you trust, the world, the thrills and great happiness are yours'...I don't recall if I saw this movie but it sounds like one I would really enjoy with its' aquatic location in Greece and great cast...I remember hearing Alan Ladd often had to stand on a box when in a scene with his leading ladies and I see they mention that on your one link...a wonderful entry for SNATM...thank you, Tick...as a side note, I once lived in Rochester, NY, not to be confused with Rochester, Minnesota:)...now I'm off to check out your music link.

This brings back some very old memories for me. Back in the very late '50's there was a network program called Saturday Night At the Movies. They played a somewhat recent movie each week and that is where I saw this movie. I also saw Bridge On The River Kwai and it, and it's theme music, The Colonel Boogey March, were favorites of mine from the time I saw it up to and including this very moment.
