Another photo of the Union Depot in Joplin, Missouri. You can read all about the depot in my previous post Joplin Union Depot.

This is also a tribute to Kirk Douglas who died February 5, 2020. He was 103 and the last of the glory days of Hollywood actors. Surprisingly, he never won an Oscar for best acting although most of his contemporaries won one. He was nominated three times, but never got to make his acceptance speech. I thought his movie Last Train from Gun Hill fit this photo.

This will be my contribution to SNATM

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

I have seen many Westerns in my young days but I don't remember this one. I must see where I can get it on my PC. Nice photo for the title Tick.

Kirk Douglas was a great actor who never received credit for his craft - I've always enjoyed the roles he played - Great Capture Tick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like that golfer gang has plastered their graffiti on this old station. Nothing is sacred to those scoundrels. They are easy to spot due to the wearing of their gang colors (usually plaid pants and polo shirts with the word "Gallaway" above the left breast), Tommy Bahama Golf Hats, and big old dark sun glasses. Consider them armed with more than 12 golf balls and dangerous with an illegal amount of clubs stashed in large bags with straps.

I too saw this movie and enjoyed it. As been mentioned, Kirk did not make any bad ones. Sorta like the pictures you post; never a bad one!

Terrific capture, and Kirk was in so many great Westerns. As others have said, he never received much credit, but deserved much.

He did indeed deserve more credit than he received - nice one for the SNATM.

And another excellent capture of this sad place. I am also sad that Kirk Douglas didn't get an Oscar, and he was a great actor. But I always say, the Oscars are not always in the hands of the right people. Sad.

Another super capture Tick - such nostalgia.

I am not familiar with that movie but Oh yes i have seen Kirk Douglas in many others - a fine actor indeed - and not a bad looker either :)He did deserve an Oscar. First movie 1946, last one 2008 - how amazing is that. Spartacus will always be the stand-out for me

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), this is not only a good contribution for the SNATM-theme (🎥), but a tribute to the late Kirk Douglas as well. I can still remember that I've seen already in my younger days some movies from him. I was always impressed.
I can't understand that he wasn't rewarded by an Oscar. But that's not an exception to the rule.
Perfectly done again, 👍 !

Very good job on your editing, and a nice tribute to an actor who was short changed when it came to awards. tigz=^..^=

I like the "Golfer" logo on the side of the station that could pass for the regular graffiti seen everywhere else...
