Our rosebush, known as Grandma Happy, is blooming again and she's even more lovely this year. There seems to be several different varieties of roses on this one bush. It has me puzzled. Kathy said last year it was an old species. You can view and read about it here. There are more varieties then just the ones pictured. My contribution to Foofy Friday. We are in the process of moving and I hope to be able to transplant Grandma Happy one more time.

Lovely strong colors on these roses. "Grandma Happy" is showing you all that she has still got strengt and energy in her.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), It's better not to move old 'grannies' (😁) . However, if it is unavoidable, provide ideal conditions: keep the soil moist well in advance of the movement day. On the day of the move, remove the flowers (because they are energy and moisture guzzlers), then dig out the root ball as large as possible and wrap it in foil (to prevent the root ball from drying out) and then place Grandma in a large planting hole. Keep her foot moist for some period of time.
I hope this mission can be carried out successfully.
I hope that after a while you can show a nice picture of her again.
Very fine Foofy Friday (F²) however!

Wow, excellent post and excellent advise from Mr C. I too was wondering if it was you and your family moving or just the rose. I wish you all the best.

I too wish you well if you and not just the rose are moving - I did it last year and it was not fun. Mr. C.'s advise on the rose transplant is spot-on - she looks good in this shot I hope to see her again.
