Yesterday was my late father's birthday. He was a veteran and he also retired from the John Deere Manufacturing Company. I spotted this scene along the highway recently and thought it would make a good birthday card for him. I hope you agree. You can read more about him in my post Respect.

Skates, aka Icedancer or Pat, is currently having some health problems. You can read about it on the Bulletin Board. Stop by and wish her well.

Another wonderful tribute to your father - in the Midwest John Deere was the king I even toured their facility in Moline with my girl scout troop when we lived in Peoria. Very neat capture.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), your wonderful post does remind me of THIS SONG.

Your post is a well chosen tribute for your late father to commemorate his birthday.

The way how this patriotic farmer shows the love for his country doesn't amaze me, because in the maritime world it's even an obligation to show the flag of your homeland on your ship, mostly positioned at the stern of the ship. So, why not a flag on a flag ship of the John Deere Manufacturing Company? However, the hay bales covered with the national flag is a bit too far for me, 😜

S+F! Thanks, 👍 !

A rare and beautiful sight to see the bales with the national colours. The farmer is without doubt a patriot.

Nice tribute to your father...I would guess that when he started working at JDM, most of the equipment might've been "Deere Green & Yellow", but nowhere as complex (nor as expensive) as they get today...Modern farms are big business...
