First Great Egret of the Year I've seen sporting the Mating colors above the beak. Nesting starts now. Season 3 Begins. Will not post as many of these this year. Will Try to focus more on action shots. Have A Great Day ! E J

It looks like it has its arms wrapped around itself to help with the cool air. Almost like it is wearing a shawl. Great shot from the Bayou Jambo.

A magnificent capture EJ. I didn't realize egrets displayed certain mating colors on their beak ... so I learned something new today. You captured the softness of it feathers beautifully. Very well done & looking forward to more.

The way the wind is blowing the feathers on this egret really makes this an outstanding shot. All your egrets are outstanding. This one is super gorgeous.

Nice start to the season, EJ. At first it looked like you blew out some of the hightlights. But a detailed check of the pixels shows that you did not. It just underscores what many don't realize -- it's just extremely hard to see details in the bright areas of these birds. I hope people appreciate how hard you work at the shots you share with us. (I'm sure it's even harder since you're using some of that Nikon stuff -- <grin>) Looking forward to some great action shots this year! Thank You, and Have a Great One! Alan
