This Great Egret needs lots of Lift to due to it's size and water drag. Shot from 200+ ft and heavily cropped. Nikon D300, Nikkor 70-300mm VR Lens, Hoya Polarize Filter, FL 300mm, F/6.3, SS 1/1600, ISO 400, WB Cloudy. Have A Great Day ! E J

Taking off from the water needs a lot of energy I suppose - with both jets on 100%. Lovely action shot, EJ.

I'm with Owd Momma on this one and that is pretty scary Jambo. Title is perfect and it makes me think of the old golf story about hit and drag. "A foursome of old guys that walked and played golf every day were late getting in one day. When asked why it took them so long one of them said "Old Ralph" had a heart attack and died on the second hole." That is terrible. Yes, it was. It was hit and drag the rest of the way." Sorry.
Good post.

I was thinking along the same lines as Patti. It looks like a ballet dancer. I don't know how you get such clarity with it being so heavily cropped. Send me a plane ticket to LA and you can give me lessons. He he.
