Snowy Egret fishes the thick green Duck Weed. Duck Weed are very tiny floating particles which gather together to form thick mats. Visibility is Zero through this Weed. Another fine image, EJ and tks for the info. I like the way the shadows fall on the weed. It looks almost like solid ground.

Think the answer to Owd Bob's question 'how the hell do they stay so white?' is that they are taking frequently a shower, lol.
Suppose egrets have some special sense to detect fish through thick mats of duck weed.
Great post again E.J.

I can imagine that weed. I think I may have seen it before. It really thrives there and the egrets have accommodated wellto it and it may even be helpful for them to see the movement. Isn't nature just wonderful!

I always wondered why all the birds in the swamp could get so high in the sky and trees. Now I know. They are hooked on duck weed. Excellent colors and the duck weed makes the perfect backdrop to make the Egret look so innocent. A frog could go unnoticed in the duck weed.

How did it's beak turn blue? Did it stick it in a container of ink or something? LOL. I like the green background in this one. It has some really neat shadows on it. Excellent egret presentation, again, EJ.

I hate duck weed. Once in awhile, sum bird drags it in onto my pond and I have to eradicate it. Great eye on the bird.
