Another from the Bin. Taken last spring when the river was at an almost all time high. Sunlight breaks through the clouds to reveal the Muddy waters of the Mighty Mississippi River. Shot just West of New Orleans, is I-310 Bridge. Have A Great Day! E J

Now this is very cool E.J. That must be a barge of some kind. Love the light play and it is for sure a muddy river in this shot. You do so well no matter what you shoot. =^..^= sandi ♪

So Cool E J. I'll be crossing it at St. Louis on the 16th. It sure is mudding looking and I know it can when there's been lots of rain and snow melting into it.

Another one that stood out to me on this trawl through your gallery EJ, the light on the brown water is lovely and the multi-coloured pallets being towed by the barge set off the muddy colours perfectly.

"Another one that stood out to me ..."

Me, too. Me ... too. :o)

Saw this image of yours some time back, Ed. And here's I be.

Your composition of the setting is certainly a strong element of your photo here. And is what caught my eye initially.

Colour contrasts are good.

And on that note would follow the one lone caveat. Some ... some, that is ... Selective Colour adjustment and/or Colour Balance adjustments ... might kick this one up a notch, or three.

Cyans in the shadows at the top could be toned down a tad. (Just my humble opinion, of course.)

Annnnd ... where the heck were you when you took this one?

Yes ... Curious Les, I am.

Good good eye to have seen this, and even better as I ponder your photographic perch ... to have captured the scene well.

And, but of course ... thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

I've been across the bridge many times but never got a birds eye perspective like you have here. The barge with colorful cargo really jumps out at you. I've seen muddy rivers before but you somehow managed to make it interesting.
