I was asked to give a comment on this photo. I am an amateur but I'll try my best. Above all, I'll be honest with you.
The shot shows a few tall rocks with a "twin"-type rock in the centre. The sky occupies about 1/4 of the picture. Some snow is seen here and there while the sun's presence is strongly felt. I like this subject: simple nature scene but with the elements of action and endurance present. I feel those elements as upon looking at the picture, you feel an urge to climb them up! I may be biased by the artist's comments or by my own background (lots of mountain climbing in the past); be it as it may, that's the urge I feel!
The picture is clear and light is abundant. But there's one problem I have with this shot: while it should (and, actually does) convey the motion and strength and sport...it is a rather bland picture. I mean you need more colour in this shot. Take the sky for example: utter gray! This is more in keeping with a dull Sunday afternoon sky on a rainy London day rather than a vigorous mountain/rock scene. With the rocks, we have the same issue. In short, "gray" seems to be the dominant colour here, not in keeping with the mood at all.
Overall, I'd give this shot two green lights and a red one.
A beautiful photo of a beautiful place. I hope you don't mind, but I was trying out some things in Photoshop (match color, masks) - and I played with your photo a little. :) I used one of wheedance's and one of Zyrogerg's sky images in the Caedes galleries. I wanted to see if I could match a different sky to your foreground with photoshop's tools. So they're not images to post, just an experiment.
Neat rockpile! Might have been good if you had a spare human (or even a dog) to stand-stay at the top of that little snowpile on the right to give scale. I agree with the other posters that a different sky would have added to the pic, but it clearly isn't easy to get to this site and so you must photograph the day you have. Shifting the camera a bit right might be fun, as the rock on the right is in the light and hence more intersting, while the rock on the left is shadowed. Nice pic overall, nice choice of subject.
