A fantasy winter landscape created in Vue. I wanted a winter scene that focused mainly on the landscape but was obviously fantasy. This was also an experiment in working with snow, getting it to sparkle and reflect the light for an “other-worldly” effect. It was an extremely long render on account of all the lights and reflective and translucent surfaces, but I was able to just run it in stops and starts over the last month.

Prints of this and other works are available at RedBubble and Zazzle.

Very magical. I could almost see Lucy and the Faun walking along here, except there are too many lamps for that scene. Really enjoyed this. There is a story here.

This is a lovely winter scene and I think you have done a brilliant job with the lighting. How I envy those on caedes who can do that sort of work. Well done - fav'd and thank you for sharing!

Another very nice piece, Hannah.

Composition is good good. Render is clean (took a look at the largest resolution size available).

Caveats?

None, really.. more of a suggestion.

That of, importing your render into your image editor and employing a Curves adjustment ("Enhance Per Channel Contrast" (Auto Levels) option, where Photoshop is concerned).

Dialing back the Opacity, if need be. As Levels, typically, can make things more 'white' than desired.

Did so.. and at least to my eyes, provided an assist on the notes of lighting and blending the castle into the scene some more.

Due to the luminance/brightness of the front light standards.. eyes are somewhat ... somewhat, being the operative word ... arrested.

That said..

Nicely done. :o)
