I realize this picture isn't of extraordinary scenery, but the lighting is just amazing. It almost seems like a painting the way the clouds, sand, and ocean are illuminated. f/8, 1/160, ISO100, 17mm Canon XTi and Tamron lens

Hi,
Amazing view, I like those empty beaches (is this taken in wintertime?)
Very beautiful colors, I like how the tones in the air compete withe those from the sand.

Thanks for sharing

On the contrary, it is a very extraordinary scene... footprints in clean sand, waves washing on the shore, homes in the distance, wisps of clouds, low sunlight illuminating everything with gold!

If you can honestly say that you couldn’t spend a least half your day basking in the beauty of this scene, then you could say that it is not extraordinary.

Superb work, Keep it up!

To answer .timvdb's comment the picture was taken during January, actually quite recently.

A photo that increases in beauty the longer you look upon it. Well done!

Goodness me do you turn out photos like this very often? The light is exquisite and you won’t find me saying that very often. The colours compliment the light perfectly and your composition could hardly be better chosen to display that marvellous light. I hope I get to see it in the voting booth so I can give you the reward you deserve.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

Just goes to show ya...you don't have to be on a deserted island to get a great ocean image...
