Both of my posts today are for ResDesOK ;) because I know how she loves squirrels and befriends them in her yard. I went outside yesterday morning and heard this young one screaming constantly for what seemed like hours. Seems that it got separated from its mom and scared up the tree by a huge cat (named Mai Tai) that lives in the neighborhood. Thanks for coming by to take a peek and have a great day. Anita

Nice focus and crisp colors on this, Anita. I like what you tried to do with the composition, but I'm not sure it totally worked. My eye goes to the squirrel's tail region, but it is his face that is the most interesting aspect.

He looks like he's holding on for dear life! I hope he found his mother. Such a clear shot. I love the textures of the bark, too.

What I Like About This Composition: 1. The unusual postioning of the squirrell. 2. The way the light falls on the entire body. He is well illuminated.3. His expression as in, "Well, hello there". 4. That misshapened ear.
Suggestions: I think the background would be better a little more lightened.
Conclusion: Overall lovely capture.

Excellent shot Anita. It's often hard to get such a clear closeup of a squirrel. I love the play of shadow and light and the background colors are really pretty and contrast very well with the rough bark of the branch.

"Squirrel youngster" Is a darling photo, Anita. He sure has his back leg firmly planted in the tree's bark. The background is pleasingly colorful, the sharpness and clarity are excellent down to his little whiskers, and the fact that he fills the screen almost give a 3D efffect. Very well done..........Neil
