This is cool. I like it, the altar seems bit out of proportion in comparison to its surroundings. Good work with the shadowing. I thinka quirky twist to the title would be to actually put the earth inside the altar instead of the green globe. Good job, keep it up.

Thanks for the comments guys... It took about half an hour or 45 minutes to make and about that long to render on my 2.4 GHz machine... I'll be making at least two more in the series (Air & Water). I might also change the look of the Altar of Fire...
