I was asked to give a comment on this image. This is, in fact, a drawing and, really, there's not much to say about the "photographic" aspects. I'll tell you what I think about the drawing, though.
This portrait, a sketch, is quite an impressive one: the proportions/positions are very good, the strokes of the pencil have been careful and neat, the overall expression is well presented. However, I must honestly say that it's not a "professional" drawing. I mean, I'd say that it's been done by a very talented but untrained hand. If that is the case, may I suggest two things:
1) read this book: Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. It's an amazing book and will get you on the track; and, 2) you have a talent my friend; pursue it!
Your drawing is skilfully done, however it seems to be to soft to my eye but your strokes are neatly executed. So I think you need to increase the contrast. I’m no expert but I think you could use pencils with various grades of hardness to achieve that. A whiter card / paper might help too. Keep them coming , you have a skill that is worth developing.
